Girlfriend says it’s weird that I salt and pepper my sandwich, but I think it adds flavor, what do you guys think?

What would be weird about seasoning a sandwich? It’s pretty standard.

  2. olyblowjob

No it’s standard. Even st subway you have the option, if you’re high brow like me. But just salt your tomatoes. All deli meats are loaded already and won’t benefit.

Seasoning your sandwich is the difference between good and great. I do this too and my girlfriend says she wants me to make all our sandwiches.

  4. NoDadSTOP

I add salt pepper and oregano to my turkey sandwiches ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  5. Crimson-Rose28

No it looks bomb. I put even more pepper than that 😅 and sometimes depending on the sandwich I’ll add Italian seasoning and/or garlic powder

  6. Zedarean

It’s weird to *not* season your sandwiches

  7. orangehehe

No. Sandwiches are the home of experimentation.

  8. melgibson64

Pretty normal. My wife requires pepper on all her sandwiches. I only pepper my turkey sandwiches.

I was gonna take a pic and wish I had cuz I just made a ham and turkey with salt, pepper and pickle seasoning. I have a hard time keeping pickles for sandwiches cuz I eat them all so I just grabbed some seasoning which is a solid 8/10 on flavor. Doesn’t do exactly what true pickles will but I can and do put it on absolutely everything.

I think a lot of people don’t do it at home but it’s standard for anywhere that makes decent sandwiches.

    It’s isn’t a sandwich without S&P mate. FACT!!

  12. TheBlackCaesar

Don’t let your gf get in the way of finding your seasoning

  13. BillsMafia84

Usually seasoning vegetables is the way to go. But yeah I see absolutely no problem with that it’s delicious I do the same.

Salt and Pepper on a gammon/ham sandwich is essential imo

  15. fujiesque

I have a spice blend from Penzy’s that is called sandwich sprinkle.

  16. SneakySalamder6

The only thing that might be wrong with this is I season the mayo side, but that’s probably more of a me thing

I don’t think it’s weird. I just don’t like it. I had a Jersey Mike’s sandwich with the meat seasoned and I didn’t like it.

  18. BigDubzy

When I go to get a sangwheech at my local Jersey spot, I always get black peppuh and hot vineguh peppuhs. The best!

  19. NiceOnes1

Maybe you should let your girlfriend out of the basement so she can see the world and it’s sandwiches!

It’s too much salt for me. There’s already a disgusting amount of sodium in deli meat, it doesn’t need more

But I put pepper onion and garlic powder on turkey breast and throw it in the microwave for a few seconds to cook the flavor into the meat

  21. NYdude777

Sounds like you need a spicier girlfriend.

  22. HaggyDaddy484

No putting seasoning on food isn’t weird. In fact people have been putting seasoning on food for a very long time.

  23. Rich-Pomegranate1679

It’s common and tasty, but you’re also getting a lot more salt than what is technically considered heart-healthy.

  24. Sounds like your girlfriend might be the weird one here..

  25. Hungry_Night9801

I think there are WAY more important discussions to be had.

  26. PrettyBoyLarge

Seasoning is your friend….I could not tell you how many funny looks I get when I season my salad, if I dud have to tell you its like 2 funny looks.

  27. Legendairy_Doug

Anytime I put mayonnaise on bread I pepper the hell out of it

  28. dynastydave9473

Not at all. Pepper and oregano for me. Instant sandwich enhancer

  29. Turbulent-Agent9634

Seasoning? It’s the right thing to do.

  30. CommonManX

I do the same. Nothing wrong with that at all. I actual do garlic powder sometimes.

  31. Hot-Inevitable-7340

Jersey Mike’s offers salt when you get it Mike’s Way. So, can’t be all too weird.

  32. causeiwontsing

no way i put a ton of pepper on my sandwiches

  33. Rich_Wrangler6520

It’s not weird, but you don’t need to add salt. Sammich meat is a sodium bomb. Just try pepper and maybe something else like parsley or oregano as many here have suggested.

  34. Endlesstrash1337

Sammich shops have salt and pepper for that very purpose. As others have pointed out idk about salting deli meat cause it is essentially a meat salt lick but I will definitely get some peppah and other herbs on a sammich.

  35. poofandmook

in New Jersey, subs are pretty standard with salt, pepper, and oregano. For breakfast sandwiches, saltpepperketchup is one word lol

  36. TBoopSquiggShorterly

I don’t salt cold cuts or lunch meats because they already have lots of sodium and don’t need it, but black pepper, yes. Absolutely. Every time. Freshly cracked preferred.

  37. Dear-Smile

I always do. Your gf is the weird one… lol
