It looks like we’re getting a new Italian restaurant in North Dakota.
According to a post on Facebook, Joe’s Italian Restaurant is set to open in 2026 at 1970 Columbia Rd in Grand Forks.
Get ready for authentic Italian flavors right here in your neighborhood! We are thrilled to announce that Joey’s Italian Restaurant is opening soon.
It’s hard to tell, as the post doesn’t say specifically, but this new restaurant could occupy the old Famous Dave’s or Vinyl Taco space.

In the post, the owners say that they are working very hard behind the scenes to prepare the space and fine tune the details before opening. Beyond that, we don’t know much about the restaurant, though, they did post some pictures of food they will offer: angel hair and capers, spaghetti and meatball, fettucine, pizza, etc. – Things we expect to see and love from Italian restaurants.

For many in Bismarck, this news may spark a little envy since we don’t have many Italian options. After Johnny Carino’s closed a few years ago the gap in full-service Italian spots became more noticeable. That said, many Bismarck restaurants do have delicious Italian options on their menus.
