No garlic, white pepper is interesting though.

  2. Small-Necessary-8499

I don’t, but I would happily eat yours if you made it

  3. Desperate_Hat_4544

As a garlic lover, I’m not mad at it. As long as it’s chopped finely

I don’t think garlic is a good idea. Raw (as it should be in pico de gallo) just it’s too strong of a flavor

100% of the time I put garlic in pico. Onion and garlic are in every salsa I make.

  6. DO NOT do lines of garlic. Bad for your sinuses (but good for your heart).

  7. RoxyLA95

I put garlic in pico but don’t do white pepper.

Sandwich guy, I’m familiar with your work. Never seen you ‘round these parts.

Oh & I definitely fuck with the garlic/white pepper additions

Garlic in Pico = Bruschetta tomatoes

I don’t put it in pico because i don’t really do pico. But i do rip fat lines of garlic like that in my kitchen, car, bed, office etc.

One “line” of garlic is good to cook with. Now, if I will hungry later – different topic. Might as well finish the “garlic”

I put garlic on or in pretty much anything savory.

No, never. Im a purest. Tomato’s, white onions, serranos , cilantro, lime and salt. Anything else messes with the sangrita and i can’t have that.

  14. earmares

I use garlic powder, haven’t tried fresh. I don’t usually pepper my pico.

  15. A_Misguided_Llama

What kind of tomatoes did you use here? Looks solid and vibrant

  16. YOUR_TRIGGER

why did you line up your garlic like that!? 🤣

  17. jason_abacabb

If i use garlic I temper it in lime juice to calm it down first

  18. No but I put a pinch of msg and a pinch of sugar if the tomatoes are lacking.

  19. Famous_Tadpole1637

Yes I always blanch it in the microwave then turn it into a paste and mix it in. So good

  20. Reformulated

I love how I can always tell who’s posting these pics based on the butcher block now (and the lines of garlic!)

  21. warranpiece

A little finely minced garlic might be the first thing I do (with a bit of lime to mellow it). Then the rest. A little olive oil to balance it all.

But I don’t do pico usually.

  22. justabuckeye

I mash it up with the side of my knife adding salt

  23. iratecommenter

White pepper tastes like poop from a butt

  24. beeduthekillernerd

    I only do tomato , ( de seeded ) onion, jalapeño , cilantro , lime juice , salt .

    ONLY!!!

  25. leetlepingouin

Garlic yes, white pepper no. But I hate white pepper. I think it smells like a musty wet horse.

  26. rockspeak

I loathe white pepper, so I only add it to Asian dishes, where it adds an element I like. Otherwise, it’s too strong to me.

  27. Cool-Temporary9415

No and you should use glass bowls for anything you put citrus juice in. It’s less reactive.

  28. beautifulbountiful

Oh yeah. Tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, Serrano, jalepeno, garlic, salt, black pepper (fresh) and lime.

Anybody else ever had their pico go super bitter when the tomatoes weren’t fresh enough? Absolutely foul.

  29. Karmastocracy

This thread was exactly what I needed today, thank you OP.

I garlic but I don’t pepper. I’m definitely going to try it now though!

  30. puff_of_fluff

No, I find raw garlic a bit intense for pico and the flavor doesn’t really compliment the bright acidity I’m going forb
