Really enjoyed this, which I was motivated to buy after reading descriptions on this sub.
What struck me was the deep, savory flavors, predominantly ripe cherry and plum as well as blackberry and black currant. I realize that this bottle was still very young, and the more earthy notes would be enhanced with a few years of aging, but still very enjoyable now.

  1. Mmmm I love Cru Beaujo. Try some Foillard Fleurie next.

  2. Big Four Cru Bojo? Take my upvote. Love this producer and their Morgon. Hell I love all the Morgon I’ve ever had. Wonderful stuff.

Seeing Morgon mentioned brings back memories. Years ago when I was in the trade, Beaujolais release week was always a big date in the calendar. The hype around Nouveau was huge back then.
Morgon is a different level though, much more depth and structure than people expect from Beaujolais.

I just had this very same bottle a few weeks ago. It renewed my interest in cru Beaujolais.

Sorry it’s all down hill from here.

But for real, I love morgon. Consider other gang-of-four cru bojo, and don’t be afraid to try some Chiroubles and Chenas.
