I.. I can’t begin to describe what I just tasted. This was such a mind blowing cup. The tasting notes were so spot on. If you haven’t been to Japan yet: Make this a destination when you land

I can’t think of them as anything but scammers they fill the flavor bias diagram like they are collecting pokemon with every thing being 8+ Edit: I am not talking about flavors, but the cards they use a coffee can’t be 8 and 9 out of 10 on everything they list Some coffees have weaker body, some stronger, Also a high acidity coffee should rank low in balance and vice versa

Glitch was awful, every person there was a tourist too. Total scam

While you are in Tokyo, try coffee swamp, really nice hole in the wall run by a single guy. Loved it.

Apparently we hate glitch now..?
Anyway, cool you got to go OP! I’m going to Japan in May and plan on stopping by. I keep sending friends there and they’ve done nothing but rave about it. I’ve had several little bags and jars brought back for me that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed at home. Currently i have a columbian that tastes like blueberries and it’s so good!

There are plenty of good coffee places in Tokyo. This just got famous in TikTok and IG and the rest is history.
Not good, not bad. But kinda pathetic that some people are discovering just a normal decent coffee here and calling it ”the best coffee of their lives”. I’m amused about the ”big boys” leaving their tow and discovering that there is an actual whole world out there…
Enjoy the coffee but try other spots as well 🙂

Glad you made it in. When I went to Tokyo back in January the line was 2 blocks long and was nothing but tourists – not worth my time imo. Found some amazing spots though during my time. Rokume in Tokyo Station was my favorite by far.

Great visit! I enjoyed my visit to Glitch last month, but I can’t justify returning there considering the price and wait time for a cup of coffee. Kind of similar experience when I went to Koffee Mameya. Both great spots once you get your coffee, but I’ve had similar flavor experience at home when I brewed using great beans.
For a very good (competition style) cup of coffee without really a line, I really enjoyed going to Brewman in Shibuya Yoyogi. Hikaru Ono who won the Japan Brewers Cup 2022 started the shop and he was the person who took my order and made my pour over. They have a Ginza location but I heard that one is always busy.
