These peanut butter chocolate chip cookies bring together the best of both worlds: soft and chewy peanut butter cookies studded with chocolate chips. I retested this recipe to add more peanut butter flavor and a chewier texture to the cookies. This perfected recipe makes large, bakery-size cookies with the ideal balance of textures. They have a wonderfully tender center with beautiful golden brown edges, for that perfect chewy but crispy bite.

  1. Hey John!

My family doesn’t own a stand mixer, but I STILL want to make these ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS cookies! Can I use an electric mixer instead?

I JUST LOVE your content and your AWESOME sense of humour!

    Please let me know!

  2. Such a clear and encouraging recipe. I love how you explain why each ingredient matters — especially the tip about sugar affecting texture. These cookies look soft, cozy, and perfect for sharing.
Wishing this channel continued success, and hoping everyone watching (and reading this) has a sweet, peaceful day filled with something homemade. 🤍

  3. You seem to rely heavily on the stand mixer for your recipes.
I don't have one or an extra $300+ to buy one.
Please use a hand mixer more or at least mention using one, but more than the comment, "You can use a hand mixer for this recipe." TY

  4. My grand daughters like to bake. My oldest is autistic and baking is one of the few things she expresses interest in. This is a great recipe for us to tackle together! Many thanks.

  5. How do the chocolate chips you put at the end not melt by the time the cookies are out? Do you put new ones after you take them out of the oven?

  6. Just wanted to let you know that I have made your easy peanut butter cookies at least 4 times in the last month – everyone loves them!! These will be next, thank you John!!

  7. Wow – these look really good! I think I'll make some to take to work tomorrow. Thank you, John! I've watched dozens and dozens of your videos and I think you're my official baking/cooking guru – love your calm 'vibe'!

  8. I know you have made pound cake and butter cake before but i have always wondered if anyone knows exactly how to get kind of that buttery caramel kind of top like in the Entemanns Single Serve cale slices (the slices sold individually not the whole loaf or mini cakes)

  9. FYI: In Liberia, peanuts are made into a popular soup: peanut butter soup. It's savory and delicious. Also, I'm pretty sure that peanuts are not indigenous to North America.

  10. Omg! I printed the recipe, followed to a T, then looked on my counter & saw 2 sticks of butter lol you forgot to list it in the instructions on the printed version!

  11. Hello @PreppyKitchen !
I was wondering if you could come up with a macadamia white chocolate chip cookies recipe only made with oat flour. I would appreciate it! My dad can’t eat flour anymore and I want to make him some cookies he can eat.

  12. americans will eat raw flour, but not raw eggs. exact opposite to serbia. I guess that's why us bmbed serbs. sounds more convincing than any other excuse I've heard. raw flour will give you spoiled stomach 100% of the time. raw eggs? I've been eating raw eggs my entire life, since childhood
