“Personally, I think anything pickled would be great with it,” Claire explained, “just because [Lillet] is such a sweet wine and it’s super buttery. It kind of tastes like honey, so to have something that’s vinegary to offset it is the best thing to do.”
Claire recommends cornichons or even some punchy green olives to counteract some of the drink’s inherent sweetness. Heck, for a truly French-inspired lineup, you could even serve Lillet alongside some radishes and butter.
