i recently learned that i'm a major fan of bread pudding pastries. a couple months ago, i had a sticky toffee pudding danish from fat peach in bridgeport, which launched me into an obsession with the bakery. when i saw that bad butter (formerly dan the baker) has a banana pudding danish special, i had to have it. first of all, not only is this thing gorgeous, but it's also probably about half a pound of decadence. it's filled really generously with the most delicious banana jam + house made nilla wafers + fresh banana chunks. the banana flavor is not artificial at all and it's not overly sweet despite how rich in flavor and texture it is. the pastry itself is of course extremely well made – super crispy and light layers that hold everything together so well so that the filling and banana diplomat cream don't spill all over the place. if you're a pastry lover/banana lover/dessert lover, i couldn't recommend this pastry more.
