STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — The former Italian Village in Strongsville will reopen in April with a new concept. The team behind the revival of Dean Martin’s Lanning’s in Akron plans to open Deano’s Trattoria there this spring.
Italian Village, which opened in 1994, had been owned for the past 12 years by Marc Glassman’s Cleveland Restaurant Management Group. The restaurant closed Jan. 1, 2025, for renovations, as CRMG prepared to debut a new concept, Capriccio’s Village, in the space.
Capriccio’s is an Italian restaurant concept created by CRMG restaurateurs Brad Friedlander and Michael Dubois. The first Capriccio’s opened in Solon in 2025. Renovations had been underway in Strongsville when the Amore Restaurant Group stepped in to take over the project.
Amoré Restaurant Group was created by Dean and Bethany Martin. They recently transformed Lanning’s into Dean Martin’s Lanning’s, updating the longtime fine-dining destination while maintaining its classic feel. Now, they’re bringing a similar blend of tradition and refresh to the west side staple.
With Deano’s Trattoria, the Martins plan to introduce what they describe as elevated modern Italian cuisine, featuring house-made pastas alongside steaks and chops. The restaurant will also offer private dining spaces, catering and takeout.
A key component of the new concept will be Deano’s Lounge, designed as a lively gathering spot with live entertainment — a contemporary nod to classic supper clubs.
“We are confident that this new addition to our portfolio will further solidify our reputation for excellence in the restaurant industry,” Dean Martin said in a statement. “We look forward to the continued success and growth of the Amoré Restaurant Group with Deano’s Trattoria as a key player in our lineup.”
Deano’s Trattoria is targeting an April 1 opening date. A grand opening celebration will be announced at a later time.
