Whether it’s in the middle of winter, or on a hot summer day, there’s something extra satisfying about a great scoop of Ice Cream. But this ice cream, you can only get your hands on once every couple weeks. And as soon as it drops, it’s usually gone within 30 minutes. Good Karma Creamery is delivering craft ice cream with exclusive drops because one you’ve tried it, you’re for sure coming back for another pint.
Mr. 8 That recently secured one of their drops and got a chance to try some of their newest creations. The drops occur bi-weekly on Wednesday at 7PM, and you schedule a pickup time on one of the following days.
Mr. 8 That rates every restaurant using two simple categories: price and taste, each scored on a scale of 1-5. Add the two scores together, and if a restaurant reaches a total of 8 or higher, it officially “8 that.”
Good Karma Creamery specializes in small batch, hand-crafted ice cream flavors with original flavor combinations. All of their ice cream bases are made from scratch and loaded with creative mix-ins.
Mr. 8 That: “The Breakfast in Paris was a nice sweet vanilla base with a buttery croissant streusel and bright, tart raspberry jam flavor and finishing notes of almond that made it feel like a elegant breakfast pastry in ice cream form. The Samoan Paradise was a direct translation of a Girl Scout cookie; strong coconut flavor in the ice cream base and the cookie gravel gave excellent texture to compliment the creaminess of the base. The Golden Ticket was the most uniquie; golden graham base with different chocolate elements swirled throughout. It was a like a nostalgic bowl of breakfast cereal with a chocolate twist. And finally, the Miso Chippy stood out with the Miso Caramel being a non-traditional way to do salted caramel. The Tate’s Cookie Gravel was also an excellent textural contrast. While the price point for these pints is on the higher end, you can definitely tell the difference between one of these and a store bought brand.”
During his visit, Mr. 8 That tried the following flavors: Breakfast in Paris, Samoan Paradise, Golden Ticket and Miso Chippy. He gave the flavor a 4.6 and the price a 3.9, leading to a final score of 8.5. That means that Good Karma Creamery 8 that!
