Breakfast is back at San Carlo Cicchetti, and it’s making a strong case for lingering a little longer over your morning.
Located inside the historic House of Fraser on Deansgate, San Carlo Cicchetti has reintroduced its breakfast menu, bringing a touch of Venetian café culture to the city centre.
Breakfast is served daily from 9am until midday and to mark the relaunch, the restaurant is giving away 100 croissants with a coffee on Thursday 26 February, available on a first come, first served basis.

Known for its marble-clad interiors and small-plate Italian cooking, the restaurant is now turning its attention to the first meal of the day, with a focus on elegant dishes.
On the menu there’s an Italian-inspired full English, the sort of plate that demands a proper sit-down and a second coffee. At the other end of the spectrum, dishes made for a celebratory start to the day: crab on toast topped with caviar, or a tiramisu crepe that leans into dessert territory before noon.

It’s a menu that doesn’t shy away from a little decadence, but there are lighter options threaded throughout, alongside a line-up of morning-appropriate tipples for those who prefer their breakfast with something sparkling.
The real centrepiece, though, is the pastry counter. Everything is made fresh in San Carlo’s own bakery, and it shows. Oversized croissants – large enough to share between four – are filled generously with pistachio cream or turned savoury with Parma ham, mozzarella and peppery rocket.

They’re available to eat or boxed up to take away, should you be passing through town or rushing to the office. If you’re seeking a weekday pick-me-up or a slightly more refined weekend ritual, Cicchetti is back on the menu.
