

Got this tin of Minerva sardines in spiced olive oil with vegetables from Rainbow Tomatoes Garden a couple months ago and had been saving for a day I could really enjoy them. Since I'm snowed in today I decided to bake a loaf of crusty bread (not sourdough unfortunately, just a regular yeasted load) and pull these out with a little sharp Vermont cheddar on the side. Absolutely beautiful sardines, super firm and with the smallest whisper of a kick from the piri piri in the oil – really enjoyed the couple pieces of vegetable in here too!
