Porto’s DNA is intrinsically linked to the world of wine, so it is not surprising that events related to the sector are frequently held, with “Essência do Vinho” already a ‘classic’ on Porto’s calendar. From February 26 to March 1, the 22nd edition of the initiative will take over one of the city’s most emblematic locations — the Palácio da Bolsa.

Part of Wine & Travel Week, running from February 19 to March 1, “Essência do Vinho” brings together more than 450 producers from different regions of the country and abroad. In total, there will be more than 4,000 wines available for free tasting, and the event program also includes other activities, such as guided tastings and tributes.

As this is a major event in the wine sector, more than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend. Highlights include, for example, the “TOP 10 Portuguese Wines” competition , organized by Revista do Vinho magazine, as well as the launch of new old wines from Justino’s, Louis Roederer champagnes, and more.
