Went to Fire on the Mountain in Denver and walked away with this beaut. For only $12 they sell you an entire pint of any of their sauces in a neat mason jar. This one (El Jefe) I was pleasantly surprised to find is actually pretty hot. I’d say comparable to some of my hot sauces made from super hots, and really delicious. Considering I’d pay $12 for a comparably hot 5oz bottle I feel like it was a steal!

Love that stuff.
Fucking love it. FOTM is my favorite wing spot here in Portland. Thick! This “sauce” is more of a paste. It’s dangerous, you can really gob it on a wing.
And $12 for a whole mason jar is a pretty good deal.
FIYA!
Yes! This stuff is the real deal. Not only hot but also delicious. Good to know they sell them in jars… gonna stop in this week and snag one
I see fire on the mountain, I upvote. Wait — they’re in Denver??
I Don’t know if they do this in Denver but in Portland you can get an entire jar of their incredible blue cheese for $10.
I’m so tempted to try their el jefe challenge. It’s not the heat that will beat me though, it’s the crazy short time limit
Takes a whole pail of water just to cool him down…
Love the Jamaican jerk sauce on wings, so good.
Was having lunch years ago at their Fremont (PDX) location and a company was having a holiday party. They were fun to watch. Construction company of some sort. But they had like 7 guys lined up doing the el jefe challenge. I took a long lunch that day because it was too much fun to watch these dudes not enjoy themselves while having a great time.
I’ve had one wing before and it was too hot but I’m better now. I recall the taste was there and if I have a day where I know I’ll be near my bathroom I’ll walk down the street and try the challenge one of these days.
For me it’s bourbon chipotle all day long.
I’m gonna have to go to Fire on the Mountain, I’m from the Denver Metro area and have a new spot to try.
