I don’t care if it’s a gimmick. This dosing cup scale is more responsive than most scales (I could find) at this price point and it cuts out having to put some kind of cup on the scale. This definitely improves my flow by not having to use the same scale for multiple things. I can just leave the espresso cup on the normal scale & use this guy for the beans.

  1. So you just directly grind into there? Does it pour out easy? I don’t think I could go back to pouring grounds into my basket now that I have a dosing cup that just fits on it perfectly and allows me to just stack my portafilter on top and flip.

Yep you bought a second scale, something you could have done in the beginning and this thing would not have solved anything 😉 lol.

I do wonder how much it actually improved your workflow, you added another thing to charge and clean.
don’t get me wrong, you should buy whatever you want but claiming its a improvement on the workflow is just a bit weird IMO.

  3. Second post today about this company with advertisement worthy raving going on. Astroturfing or is this real deal?

  4. Background_Focus7298

What’s the gimmick? Functional, clean design that fits nicely into single dose workflows 🤷‍♂️

  5. I have this.
I found that I’m moving around my other scale a lot anyway.
So it really ads little to no practicality to my work flow.

But it looks slick and works flawlessly. I find excuses to use it. I love it.

Same goes for their WDT tool. It’s just really pleasant to use.

I really like this too. The two cons are (1) the scale seems slow to respond to weight changes (not too slow but there is a delay compared to my other scales) and (2) it feels rather light. I wouldn’t say it feels cheap but it doesn’t feel substantial by any means.

Big same. Absolutely love it. I’ll probably buy a second or something similar for my 2nd coffee corner lol

  8. Anerdnamedsoroosh

This is 100% unnecessary, and I would 100% buy it again… just lovely

You pair this and a second scale with a timer function?

  10. antilogic1

I also just picked it up because I like the aesthetics and was pleasantly surprised. My main complaint is actually that it’s a little hard to read in sunlight, but I like it enough that I would buy it again. My other scale is an acia lunar which I now leave by my espresso machine and use this primarily for dosing for pour over. I separately tried a Time More black mirror and strongly prefer this.

Sigh now I going to have to spend some more $$

I would buy one of these things if they get rid of that horrible startup animation. Even I was the #1 fan of this company I still would not want to see the brand name scroll across it every time I use it. I don’t care if the scale needs a second to boot up and zero itself, let me enjoy that brief moment in peace, without you interjecting your fucking brand into my morning. Unabashed fart sniffery.

I have their flick WDT and really like it but having two scales in my workflow feels excessive.

  14. Hdudiman

So you’re saying that adding an additional even bigger scale, one that can’t weigh the cup and requires giant hands just to cover it while RDT shaking, is actually a workflow improvement?

  15. I don’t see the point of it, I still need another scale for measuring my output

    DO NOT GET IT WET!

My maids got mine wet when cleaning and water got inside and made the scale unreliable +/- 1g ghost shifts

I really liked that thing tho, unfortunately rice did not help

  17. n0n_0perational

Got one as a secret Santa gift and love it! Cleaned up some space on our already cramped counter which was a win. But definitely helped me streamline my workflow a bit too.

  18. I use my mignon zero instead of the libra just to be able to use my subscale.

  19. kano350chevy

Yeah it’s expensive for a scale but worth every cent – love it

  20. Jamesogreeley

Its the GOAT for me, for V60 it really cleans up the workflow.

  21. Headhunter_89

I actually considered buying this scale, but don’t you still need a second scale to measure the time and flow? I think it’s a cool gimmick, but honestly, I prefer a flat scale that I can use to weigh the beans and also measure the time and flow. That way, I have less stuff lying around.

  22. Asleep_Spray274

I have one of these and i love it too. Dont care about the haters. I have 2 scales, this for beans and a timemore for the shot. I find it funny that people in this sub call it unnecessary. The entire hobby is unnecessary. Its espresso, not bread and water. Enjoy it brother.

How much is it compared to a normal scale plus basket?
