I'm in Canada (GTA Ontario) and looking to buy a new propane grill.

It'll be replacing a Weber Genesis from 2003 (yes, 2003, it's been an absolute machine and built so well). The Genesis actually still works, with zero repairs or part replacements ever, but has lost a lot of its heating efficiency, and the entire inside is getting pretty rusted out. I keep it covered outside year-long in Ontario. I know some people are motivated to refurbish these older models because they are built well… but I'm not super keen to do so, I'm not a big DIY guy. So I feel it's time to put it to pasture.

I'm likely to buy from Home Depot Canada because someone is planning on gifting me a bunch of Airmiles-bought Home Depot giftcards, up to $1000 CDN. I'm happy to start at that price but willing to work up to $2000 CDN, but not really interested in more than that. I'd be happiest somewhere in between.

I prioritize long-life durability above all else, and would generally be happy with something like a 1:1 replacement for my 2003 Genesis. I think it is a Weber Genesis Gold C, it has 3 burners and a side burner. I treat my stuff well so it's less about durability against accidents and more about my grill lasting a long time.

I'm curious about having a rotisserie, as well as the ability to attach a pellet box and turn it into a pellet smoker… but also see those as risks of being novelties I may only use rarely, so definitely not a priority but a "cool to have" aspect. I do have a Ooni pizza oven and a Weber Smokey Mountain 18 already. I'm not super particular about black porcelain (which seems to be a lot cheaper) vs stainless steel, but again I prioritize durability. I don't need a grill any bigger than my old Genesis, but I'm not opposed to a bit more size either.

My current shortlist:

  1. Weber Genesis S-335c 3-Burner Propane Gas BBQ in Stainless Steel with Side Burner, $1599 CDN
  2. Napoleon Rogue PRO 525 4-Burner Natural Gas Grill in Stainless Steel with Infrared Side Burner and Stainless steel Cooking Grids, $1549 CDN
  3. Broil King Baron S 490 Pro IR 4-Burner Natural Gas BBQ Grill in Stainless Steel w IR Side Burner and Rotisserie, $1559 CDN
  4. Broil King Regal S 490 Pro IR 4-Burner Natural Gas BBQ Grill in Stainless Steel w IR Side Burner and Rotisserie, $1859 CDN

  1. I had the Broil King and while it was made in Canada and had fabulous warranty/support I never had a grill that deteriorated so badly.

I was torn between Napoleon and Weber , ended up getting the Weber as it was an unused return at half the price.

    I am in the US
