An annual event is nigh that will celebrate the 20 years since the creation of the Chehalem Valley American Viticultural Area in 2006.
Wineries that make up the nonprofit Chehalem Mountains Winegrowers association will hold the Magic in the Mountains wine tasting event from 1 to 4 p.m. May 30 at The Allison Inn & Spa in Newberg.
“This highly anticipated tasting event will showcase wines from 39 Chehalem Mountains’ wineries, paired with live music and delectable bites from four local purveyors,” a release said.
The purpose of the event, organizers said, is to give wine enthusiasts an opportunity to appreciate the complexity of the region’s wines by way of the 78 different vintages crafted by both seasoned producers and rising stars in the industry.
Attendees will do so with the accompaniment of live music by Portland guitarist Steve Hale and his band. In addition, tasty bites will be provided by The Allison’s JORY Restaurant, Biscuit & Pickles, Meatstuff and Lemon and Olive.
Tickets are available at tinyurl.com/yk8mxjdn for $75, which includes the wine tasting and food offerings.
The 39 wineries that will be on hand include Adelsheim Vineyard, Alloro Vineyard, Anacréon Winery, Appassionata Estate, Bacus Vineyards, Balsall Creek, BelliVadum Vineyards, Bells Up Winery, Benza Vineyards, Blakeslee Vineyard Estate, Chehalem Winery, Compris Vineyard, Cooper Mountain Vineyards, David Paige Wines, de Lancellotti Family Vineyards, Elk Cove Vineyards, Finite Cellars, Flâneur Wines, Freja Cellars, Gemini Vineyard, Hamacher Wines, Lachini Vineyards, Le Cadeau Vineyard, Longplay Wine, Luisa Wines, Lundeen Wines, Oliver Springs Vineyard, Ponzi Vineyards, Privé Vineyard, Rain Dance Vineyards, Raptor Ridge Winery, Rex Hill, Ridgecrest Wines, ROCO Winery, Ruby Vineyard, Sealionne Wines, Sidereus Winery, Six Peaks Winery and Toil Oregon/Figgins Family Wines.
