Our Long John Silvers closed down nearly three years ago now. With food prices how they are nowadays, decided to give it a try. Club soda seemed to make all the difference. I used to be a sprite person.

Honestly, this post may have been the first time I’ve ever seen someone publicly admit they miss LJS…

Any sort of fried fish would be leagues above what they served lol

  2. My god that looks good. Deep frying at home is good fun, but sometimes I find it tricky to control the oil temp. Looks like you had great success, though.

    Oh my…

I used to go there with my dad. It was ultimate dad food. Miss him and honestly miss LJS.

  4. Looks great. Did you make a bunch of the little crispy bits by chance? They are my favorite! Lots of malt vinegar too!

Please please please drop the recipe. I moved and miss Long Johns so so much.

  8. That looks amazing. You’re braver than me, I’m terrified to deep fry in my kitchen.

Yo the batter looks on point! A popular local fish and chip shop said they use waffle batter somehow and its always awesome.

Are you dipping your fish in honey mustard?

You need about 3 extra pounds of tiny batter pellets.
