Just to give an idea of my tastes, I'm a Van Leeuwen junky. Sicilian Pistachio, Earl Grey Tea, Vanilla Bean, and Buttermilk Berry Cornbread are some of my favorite ice creams period. The richness of the VL base appeals to me and the yolks really make it custardy in the vanilla one. I don't love every flavor but my favs go. Pistachio is ice cream base with pistachio butter blended in and the only one I've found like that. Earl Grey Tea tastes like Earl Grey Tea but ice cream. I imagine adding cream to the regular tea. The cornbread one is is just wow with flavor and texture. I never knew I needed to have ice cream with corn bread in it plus buttermilk ice cream base? This was the one that made me wanna try Brambleberry Crisp.

Jeni's base has a rich, luxurious feel. Not too soft, not too hard. Just a slight effort to scoop out some with a spoon straight from the freezer and you get that premium ice cream feel when you chew it. Freezing process went flawlessly and churning done just to my liking. Looking forward to trying a straight vanilla if there's one. The crisp really shines with a textural contrast to the ice cream.

The flavor is perfect. A little tartness from the berries and they actually taste ripe and fresh. Some baking spices in the crisp like cinnamon? (just checked, has cinnamon). That's a really yum vanilla base, good strength level for the flavor cohesion too.

Brambleberry Crisp has a lot of flavor intensity without being overwhelming, they're balanced, and taste/feel high quality. Plenty of mixings. You can taste each flavor dancing with one another in harmony. I can see why Jeni's is beloved and this flavor in particular. Nothing tastes even slightly processed or artificial. Like a ice cream master home person just went to a local farmer's market, bought stuff and made ice cream from it. I'm impressed and there was a lot of hype.

Will buy again. $7.50 at Winco by Seattle. This is just as good to me as my favorite Van Leeuwen flavors. Will definitely buy more Jeni's flavors. Haagan Daaz and Ben & Jerry's are also really good, although sometimes I feel like BJ goes Taco Bell and just keeps mixing around the same mix-ins. They put a crap load of pistachios in their pistachio ice cream though.
