It’s just a few months in, but the always delicious Beer Barrio has added a unique dinner service – and it may be one of the best dining deals around. We’re talking multi courses of a surprise menu on a night that also has margaritas on special. Read the details, and check out more of this week’s food news, below.
On the way
Yay, Giorgios: Considering that his first Wilmington restaurant debuted not that long ago, this restaurateur is really making an impact on the local dining scene. And more is on the way, in the form of a new Italian eatery he’s opening in a long-empty space.
The return: I know I’m not the only one who has been missing one of Wilmington’s classic pizza restaurants. I miss the ranch dressing, and the stromboli. And so much more. My email inbox tells me others are ready, too, for this restaurant to make a return. Fingers crossed, by the end of 2027.
Shh, it’s a secret: Well, not really. But you might want to watch the social media posts for this downtown restaurant if you’d like to sign up for the March edition of their “Secret Menu Mondays.” Frankly, I’m still thinking about the cheesy appetizer and the Tequila Baba cake from the February event.
The latest news
Last call: There’s still some time to enjoy a last meal at Platypus & Gnome, a Wilmington restaurant well known for bison sausage, elk burgers and creative pizzas. Unfortunately, they’ll be closing after Feb. 28.
Two and The Half: In addition to a new Biscuitville in Brunswick County, there’s also a new second location of the sandwich shop where you can get The Tucker, The Ernie and The Superette. If you know, you know.
