Guy Fieri becomes ‘Justaguy’ Super Bowl ad, see the outtakes

Guy Fieri traded his signature look to become “Justaguy” for a Bosch commercial that’s running during the Super Bowl.

Andrew Silvaroli knew who Guy Fieri was long before he got into the restaurant business.

“I grew up watching his show,” Silvaroli said of the celebrity chef.

Watching “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” complemented growing up with a mom who wanted her son to be hands-on in the kitchen. He also spent his teens working at restaurants in Buffalo, New York.

But meeting Fieri during a taping of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” in his own kitchen – as the owner of Smiling With Hope Pizza – was “surreal.”

“To be filming and realizing the gravity of the situation – that I’m standing next to Guy Fieri – has been insane,” Silvaroli said. “Holy smokes, this is real.”

Three years ago, the self‑described not‑a‑risk‑taker did something quite the opposite.

He bought Smiling With Hope Pizza, an established New York‑style pizza shop at 6135 Lakeside Drive. He went into business with his mom, Robin Silvaroli, after serving more than a decade in the military.

Now, rounding out his venture into the restaurant world is his national TV debut on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

The episode, “Hot Dogs, Hot Knots, and Hot Ramen” airs at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 and again at midnight on the Food Network.

For future airings, check the Food Network schedule for “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” Season 43, Episode 3.

Even before the episode airs, business is booming.

Silvaroli said TikTok reviews and a growing local following have left him grateful as he makes the place his own. His New York upbringing is evident on the walls, decorated with Buffalo Bills posters and framed jerseys of quarterbacks Jim Kelly and Josh Allen.

On a recent Friday night, the line was out the door, but he still shouted hellos and greeted regulars. No one seemed to mind the wait.

Even when it’s crowded, Silvaroli and his mom go out of their way to make everyone feel like family.

As pizzas go into the oven, Silvaroli makes eye contact with tables waiting for their dinner. The place smells like a real New York Italian pizza joint. From the kitchen, he shouts small talk while tossing dough into the air.

His mom moves around the restaurant with the energy of someone welcoming guests into her home. After clearing a table, she hands out free homemade chocolate chip cookies,

Business is booming, and Silvaroli is already thinking about the future – possibly opening another location.

“I can’t believe it has been three years,” he said. “It’s like they say: Time flies when you’re having fun.”
