Starbucks shares two secret menu recipes every month through its Instagram broadcast channel, “The Not-So-Secret Menu.”
Each post includes instructions for ordering the secret menu drink online or in-store.
Anyone with an Instagram account can join the channel.
For many Starbucks fans, love for the brand runs deep—so deep that there’s an entire underground community devoted to creating and trying “Secret Menu” drinks. The drinks build on existing beverages by adding and subtracting elements like cream cold foam, flavored syrup, and different types of coffee roasts.
In the past, customers had to hunt for secret menu recipes on blogs and websites such as Reddit, but now, Starbucks is spilling in-house secrets on its membership-only Instagram channel, “The Not-So-Secret Menu.” Here’s what you’re missing out on and how to join.
What is “The Not-So-Secret Menu” channel?
In January 2025, Starbucks created an Instagram broadcast channel titled, “The Not-So-Secret Menu,” to provide curious followers with two new secret menu recipes every month. Each post includes a link to order the drink online, along with directions for ordering it in store. Because the recipes come directly from Starbucks, baristas are familiar with how to make them, making the ordering process easy.
While the channel may not be a true “secret” (because anyone with an Instagram account can join), it does feel like a niche community. It has roughly 191,000 members as of February 2026—a small slice of the company’s estimated 10 million daily customers. Once you join, you can view all past posts.

The channel also doubles as a focus group for the brand. For example, in February 2025, the channel posted a secret menu recipe for a Dubai Chocolate-Inspired Matcha Latte. The recipe was such a hit with members that less than a year later, the drink was added to Starbucks’ official winter menu.
How to join
On Starbucks’ Instagram page, tap “The Not-So-Secret Menu” link in the brand’s bio (this may only be available for mobile users)
Select “Join”
Note: If you don’t have an Instagram account (and aren’t interested in making one), there is a workaround. There’s a preview link that will allow you to view channel content from the last two months, without an Instagram account.
