A variety of new restaurants opened across the GTA in February, introducing everything from breakfast favourites and waterfront Mediterranean cuisine to street-food-inspired comfort dishes and nightlife dining experiences.

Here are four restaurants that opened in Mississauga, Pickering and Oshawa:

Stacked Pancake House has opened a new location at the Winston Argentia Centre in Mississauga, marking the breakfast chain’s third restaurant in the city.

Located near the intersection of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Argentia Road, the restaurant specializes in breakfast and lunch favourites, with a focus on pancakes offered in more than a dozen varieties, including strawberry banana, chocolate chip cookie dough, NY blueberry cheesecake, strawberry with Nutella and birthday cake.

The menu also features omelettes, eggs Benedict, hash browns, French toast, waffles and crepes, along with a kids’ menu and lunch options such as sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads and poutine.

Watr Taverna & Ristorante has opened at 590 Liverpool Rd., Pickering, bringing a two-storey waterfront dining destination inspired by coastal tavernas and lakefront living.

The restaurant offers Mediterranean-inspired cuisine in a lakehouse-style setting overlooking the bay, with spaces designed for dining and events.

The menu includes brunch dishes such as lemon ricotta pancakes, Belgian waffles, avocado toast and smoked salmon Benedict, alongside small plates, seafood, pasta and premium mains.

Offerings range from sushi and charcuterie boards to seafood risotto, gnocchi, veal parmesan, steak and lobster dishes, while desserts include tiramisu, molten chocolate cake and pistachio Basque cheesecake.

Not Too Shabby has opened at 1812 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa, introducing a Tamil-inspired street-food concept focused on takeout-friendly comfort dishes.

The compact space specializes in smash burgers, sliders and loaded sides, blending South Asian spices with classic fast-food favourites.

Menu items include Jaffna Fries, sliders available with beef, chicken, jerk chicken and mutton curry, as well as rice bowls featuring chicken curry, mutton curry and eggplant curry options.

The Hangout Bar and Lounge has opened at 462 Taunton Rd. W., Oshawa, combining a restaurant and nightlife setting centred on comfort food and craft cocktails.

The venue offers an elevated social atmosphere, with a menu featuring Detroit-style pizzas, handcrafted burgers, wings, tacos, quesadillas and pastas.

Signature dishes include the Hangout Fiesta Detroit-style pizza, topped with sausage, bacon, chorizo and pepperoni, alongside globally inspired options such as pad thai and butter chicken.

The restaurant also serves cocktails, mocktails and craft beer, with plans to host weekly community car shows during warmer months.
