I saw a previous post of someone asking about spice level in this particular buldak and many said it can upset people’s stomach and to need to stay close to a bathroom. Of course, I didn’t listen even though I’m well into my 30s and know better…. Let me just say I underestimated this and am a dumb dumb…. If your tummy can be sensitive to capsaicin, eat with caution… and definitely don’t buy the bottle of buldak sauce. 🤦‍♀️ The flavor is great so you want to keep eating it but it’s been a bad night, is I will say. For those with iron tummies, I’m so jealous.

  1. I personally don’t find the regular Buldak very hot at all, but I have a spice tolerance. The 2x is actually spicy for me.

But I’ve also got friends that die if they eat a jalapeno so I understand how widely spice tolerance goes.

I don’t have a problem eating them (I tried a lot of variants but never the x2 / x3), but I have troubles after, if you know what I mean

  3. Never had a problem with my stomach, only my mouth…. and my arse if I am honest.

I have the black and the red (2x) and enjoy both of them, the only problems I have are about 5 hours later.

It’s really not that bad. Are Samyang paying for posts on here or something lol

The regular Buldak is like right at the peak of my threshold. I can eat them and enjoy the flavor while still feeling the heat but it doesn’t (tmi sorry) run right through me. The 2x was a different story and I’m not in my 30s as well so I have no interest in trying 3x spice lol

If it comes down to a daily driver in this category of like asian market style ramen noodles, I’d likely go shin black or shin red. Hard to explain, but the broth is just better.

I’ma be honest. I don’t really like Buldak noodles. They have a strange background flavor. And… yeah, they tend to make the rumblies in the tumblies.

I’ll take a bowl of Shin Ramyun any day over Balduk.

I eat these for lunch a few times a week… Sometimes the 1x spicy are hot, sometimes not so much, but ALWAYS they’re a gut bomb. Not sure it comes down to the spice though.

Personally, I think it’s the noodles. They have a weird chemical taste if you ever try them completely dry, no sauce.

I love them and like adding in extras like mushrooms, scallions, and some Parmesan cheese on top.

It’s not the heat, I just don’t like the flavor

It kills my stomach to the point that my husband tells me not to eat it. He’s never told me not to do anything in nearly 20 years. I haven’t had it in about 2 months but it still haunts me. I love it. So when I want it, I call him and he talks me off the ledge. The last time I ate it, I was in so much pain he was just like, no this is ridiculous, no food is worth this.

My stomach is extremely sensitive and yeah these cause me some harm haha so does most everything I love to eat.

  14. Strongest ramen i had was Buldak 3x with 2g finely ground reaper powder. Took a while to finish and the following night was like a strange fever dream. Using reaper powder makes the buldak spice almost irrelevant so i can use other flavors/brands now that are superior to 3x.

This heat level of the black packaging spicy Buldak is my preferred level of heat in my spicy food.

I havent found the 2x or 3x black packaging yet, but I am curious.

I don’t have too much hard time with the spice level, just the noodle texture… part of why I am very picky about my ramen x3
