I am new to Kamado Joe & smoking. I recently bought a Joe Jr to learn before buying a bigger Joe. I recently found this new Kamado Joe 2 on marketplace but it has a crack on the inside lid. The price is $500. Will the crack shown affect performance & if so is it worth the buy to fix it?

Is it at an authorized retailer? If so buy it and warranty claim a new lid. If not I wouldn’t buy one with a cracked lid.

You will need to get the dome replaced for it to work properly.

If you can get a picture of the receipt or if the Joe was registered by the original owner, KJ will send you new ceramics free of charge.

If you can get a copy of the receipt or if it’s registered I’d say it’s worth it. To me, the lifetime warranty is one of the major cost justifications.

    Good luck!

I bought a “refused delivery” classic ii with a cracked dome for $280. Had no issues registering it (this is key) and customer service was great. No issues at all… they actually sent me an additional base that I listed for $100 that a dude drove from the next state over.. as soon as he came to pick it up I gave it to him for free.

I can’t see any deflector plates.

Is this being sold by someone who buys damages goods from retailers? If so, you can’t get a warranty replacement, so I think it’s a pass.

Given this is a secondary seller, unless the seller makes the claim and gets you a new top I would not mess with it.

Kamado Joe has a great warranty for original purchasers with their receipt. They have replaced a few parts for me over the years.
