There’s a big difference between 1200 calories if you are a petite women (can be plenty), versus a physically fit 6’0 man who works out regularly (1200 is not plenty for most). A lot of women (e.g., taller ones, really active individuals, etc.) also cannot sustain well on 1200 calories.

There are definitely people who can eat 1200 and be fine, but also plenty cannot. It’s understanding your body and your needs to determine if 1200 is an acceptable calorie target for you.

1200 is in fact not plenty. Doing it long term, will in fact give you plenty health issues. I will not try to argue with anybody here, everybody is free to live their life as they please and make their decisions. 1200 for me resulted in a multitude of health issues, and I’ve had an otherwise very successful weight loss story.

I’m a 5’0 100 lb woman and to me 1200 kcal is TDEE level without physical activity

I’ll be so real imo 1200 isn’t plenty for a lot of people and even if you perceive as plenty and you believe it.You are risking a lot of things like maintaining muscle and are at a higher risk of binging and gaining the weight back.A lot of people are better off with losing 1% of their body weight weekly and there’s a lot of studys saying this.A lot of people want to lose weight really fast and get done with it but if you eat at higher calories while still being in a deficit it does make it easier. But that being said,if you wanna eat 1200 calories no one can stop you and hey you might even be an outlier but for me and a lot of people ik it was just easier and enjoyable eating like 1700 calories and just upping my steps.

People really hate this sub lmao. They say it leads to disordered eating. Yeah, true for some. Works for me! I’m also microscopic, so look down where you walk 🤨

People are just retards and get stuck up on the sub’s name when in the rules it is clear as day that you don’t need to be eating 1200 calories a day to post here.

This is the better weight loss sub where I don’t get inundated with progress pics and instead have food suggestions that actually taste good. It just helps that majority of the posters happen to be little women who enjoy tasty food in small quantities. Thanks guys.

1200 isn’t plenty for me, but I find a lot of good inspiration for high protein snacks and meals in here. I’m in a deficit and if I don’t enjoy feeling hungry. This sub, and r/volumeeating are great resources.

it’s plenty if you’re short and don’t exercise (a.k.a. me)
