The value of Greek wines increased by 6.66% in the UK in 2025 compared to the previous year, according to data provided by Eurostat.

At the same time, export volumes also rose by 3.6%, with the average export price increasing by 3.1%.

Reflecting a continued rise in interest in wines from the country – which is best known for grapes including Assyrtiko and Xinomavro – further figures show that Greek wine exports have been growing since 2019.

Tracking from 2019 to the end of 2025, export value in the UK has increased by 142.75%. Meanwhile, export volumes have grown by 66.5%.

At the same time, there has also been increased interest in other alcohol from the region, such as the anise spirit Ouzo. Last week, Ouzo of Plomari was confirmed to be launching in 166 Marks & Spencer stores nationwide.

On Greek wines, Sofia Perpera, campaign director at the Greek Wine Federation and oenologist, said: “The UK has become one of the leading markets for Greek wine, with growth across every segment. What began with forward-thinking sommeliers and top restaurants has expanded to major importers, retailers and even supermarkets, all embracing Greek wine with confidence.”
