It’s probably my favorite supermarket style. Pinot. It’s a blend of their five single vineyard sites. The leftover barrels/vats.

Tasting notes: Again, I’m still new and not great at describing these things. But, it tastes “heavier,” or “fuller” than a lot of Pinots, especially the ones I’ve tried from Oregon.

As I was sipping it I kept thinking “dark berry,” I know blackberry probably is not the right fruit to say, but it’s what is popping into my head.

I would not describe it as tannic, but I don’t think that’s a characteristic of Pinot generally (I could be wrong, but I associate that with Cab, Bordeaux, etc. — which I love if I’m eating steak).

Overall it strikes a perfect balance for me, and I love whatever is giving it that ‘fuller’ body feel. For ~$21 it’s instantly a favorite.

Big fan of this: solid price and it’s a crowd pleaser.

I really enjoy both the deliciousness of their offerings and the consistency plus the value there.

First tried this after picking it up at a Target in Seattle over 20 years ago. Not a fine Pinot but a damn enjoyable one.

Great supermarket Pinot. When you want to spend some more get some of their higher end cuvées, they are outstanding.

One of my favorite Pinots as well. Love the Sonoma Coast Pinots from Red Car as well

They are the best! And they super chill and nice if you ever get to visit them!!

  12. One of the only Cali Pinots I like… and I like it a lot!

One of the many fantastic Pinot producers in my backyard.

Wine is considered a toxic substance because it contains ethanol, which the body converts into the carcinogen acetaldehyde. While moderate consumption (1-2 glasses) might not be fatal, the World Health Organization (WHO) states no level of consumption is safe, as alcohol is a Group 1 carcinogen linked to cancer, liver disease, and other health risks.
    Key Health Impacts:
Toxic Effects: Alcohol impacts all organs, particularly the brain, liver, and stomach.
Cancer Risk: Alcohol is a known carcinogen, with 5.5% of new cancer diagnoses linked to alcohol consumption.
Alcohol Poisoning: Drinking too much too quickly can lead to alcohol poisoning, which is fatal.
No Known Benefits: Contrary to popular belief, recent studies, including those by the World Health Organization (WHO), suggest there are no guaranteed cardiovascular benefits from drinking wine. My brother the eminent doctor agrees with this. Why slowly kill yourself for no good reason.

Would recommend the Hildegard white blend to you, especially if you’re trying to convert a heavy-oak drinker to Burgundian style

Au Bon Climat are just fantastic. I have their subscription. It’s worth it.

Have recommended this (and their Chardonnay) too many times to count. Big enough producer to find relatively easily and so so good.
As a next step, seek out Clendenen Family Vineyards – basically a smaller passion project imprint by Au Bon Climat’s late winemaker and owner Jim Clendenen.

Try the Isabelle cuvée and their Sanford&benedict vineyard bottling!

I need to try this. Their Chardonnay is my favorite.
