JUL’S, the acclaimed Mediterranean restaurant and bar, will open in London’s West End on Wednesday March 18. Set within a former bank near St James’s, in a building rich in heritage and history, JUL’S London reimagines its grand architecture with a design rooted in natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship, creating an intimate dining experience.

The leading restaurant brand was founded in Ibiza in 2018 by executive chef Christos Fotos, alongside Jem Akyuz and his son Ilhan. The group also includes Humain by JUL’S in Athens, known for its focused and experimental approach. The London opening continues the brand’s evolution, bringing Mediterranean ease into a London setting.

The cooking is vibrant, balanced and ingredient-led

At JUL’S London, chef Christos presents a Greek-inspired Mediterranean menu shaped by seasonality and locality. The cooking is vibrant, balanced and ingredient-led with dishes including octopus xidato prespa bean purée and pepper salsa; bluefin tuna tartare blood orange ponzu and raspberry and beetroot sorbet; slow-cooked lamb flatbread red onion jam, yoghurt and gruyère; Silver Cod corn velouté, fennel salad and chilli glaze, and a lobster risotto butternut squash, truffle and espresso butter.

“JUL’S culinary philosophy is rooted in my Mediterranean upbringing – centered around the ingredients and big generous plates. At JUL’S London, we aim to recreate that sense of connection, offering thoughtfully prepared, abundant dishes,” says Christos.

The design, by ArcSet, balances structure and warmth, extending JUL’S philosophy of nature and seasonality into the space itself. Marble and mosaic floors sit alongside scorched wood, clay plaster and solid stone, with materials chosen for their texture and ability to age over time. All elements are bespoke, with subtle references to Byzantine and Roman influences expressed through materiality and colour rather than decoration. Light is also used sparingly, allowing texture and craftsmanship to lead.

Wine plays a central role, anchored by a 6.5-metre glass wine wall running the height of the ground floor. The wine list focuses on European fine wines, combining renowned and well-established producers with small artisanal growers. Mediterranean influences are thoughtfully incorporated to complement and enhance the cuisine.
