Last week, we had our maintenance company come in and replace our group gaskets on both sides. I noticed at the time that they seemed to be on the loose side (portafilters pointing to 4 o clock when all the way tight), but I wasn’t sure if that was a bad thing or not. Since then, most of what I’ve seen online says that portafilters should point to 6 o clock when the gaskets are freshly replaced.
As of today, the right side portafilter handle bumps into the left one when taking it on and off, and I’m worried that they’ll only continue to get looser and more inconvenient.
Should we call back the maintenance company to redo them? Is this something we can fix on our own? Or is it fine the way it is?
We all really, REALLY loathe our maintenance company because of how rude and pretentious they are to staff, as well as the fact that they’re super flaky too. If I was able to fix this on my own, I’d much prefer that to having to deal with their insufferable asses again.
