Late last year, Le Marché Clifton (10431 Clifton Blvd.) opened its doors near the Cleveland/Lakewood border, adding a Parisienne-themed marketplace to the neighborhood. The slender storefront was a natural extension of La Ville Lumière, chef Kevin O’Connell’s full-service French restaurant that opened the previous year.

Since opening, Le Marché has become a beloved one-stop shop for gourmet items like imported butter, cheeses, caviar, wine, baguettes and sliced meats. The all-day café was stop number one for freshly prepared coffee drinks, grab-and-go pastries, and made-to-order crepes. At lunch there were soups and seasonal sandwiches. And in the evening, special events such as Bubbles & Bumps and Galentine’s Day.

Last month, there was a major shift in operations. Tables and chairs were added, a new menu was introduced, the hours of operation tightened, and The Cafe at Le Marché was born. Diners can still roll up for an Americano and a croissant to go. But now, Le Marché is a great place to relax over a leisurely breakfast of French toast, eggs benedict or savory crepes. At lunch there are tuna Niçois salads, BLTs, croque madam sandwiches, and house-ground burgers and frites.

On Saturdays and Sundays there is a special brunch menu and mimosa and bloody mary bar.

Le Marché Clifton is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
