Bistro La Source Announces Closure
On March 3rd, 2026, the Bistro La Source team took to Instagram to share news of the closure. In the post, the restaurant wrote, “After almost 18 years in business, we will be closing our doors for the last time on Saturday, March 7th. It would be lovely to see some familiar faces before we go. We’d like to give a huge thank you to all our customers and staff for supporting us over the years. It’s truly been a blast! We love you all.”
The comment section quickly filled with messages of support, memories, and well-wishes from longtime patrons. Many shared plans to stop by one last time ahead of the official closing on March 7th, 2026. After nearly two decades in business, the restaurant’s departure marks another notable change in Jersey City’s evolving dining landscape.
More About Bistro La Source
For 18 years, Bistro La Source built deep roots in the Jersey City community. The restaurant originally opened at 85 Morris Street, where it became a neighborhood favorite, before relocating in 2024 to 299 Marin Boulevard, just a short distance from its first home.

The bistro was run by owner Bill Spitz, who was born in New York and raised in New Jersey. With a background in French cuisine and experience as a Manhattan chef at restaurants including Voulez Vous, Virage, and Man Ray, Bill brought years of culinary expertise to Jersey City. That experience shaped the kitchen and overall atmosphere, giving the restaurant a polished yet welcoming feel that kept diners coming back.
