Greek wine exports to major markets such as Germany, France, the US and Canada decreased in 2025.

The top five countries exporting Greek wines to the EU, namely Germany, Cyprus, France, the Netherlands and Italy, represent 83.53% of the country’s total exports in value.

Germany is the first on the list of countries exporting Greek wines, but for the third consecutive year, a decrease in exports has occurred, which is now creating a significant trend.

In 2025, a decrease in value of 5.38% was recorded compared to 2024, as well as a decrease of 7.97% in exported quantities. Meanwhile, an increase of 2.81% was recorded in the exported average selling price in 2025, which partly explains the decrease in sales on the other hand.

For the second consecutive year, there was also a decline in wine exports to France. Greek wine shipments in value decreased by 28.97% in 2025 compared to 2024, a decrease of 24.93% in quantity. A drop of 5.39% was also observed in the average selling price of wines.

But the presence of Greek wines in the Italian market showed a sharp increase. In fact, the National Agricultural Cooperative of Vine and Wine Products (KEOSOE), which collected and presented the data, characterizes it as inexplicable.

Exports to the US showed a 13.86% decrease in value. A decrease is also seen in Canada after 10 years of upward trend, however the Cypriot market showed an upward trend for Greek wines.
