Sesame Chicken Recipe:
500 g (1.1 lb) chicken breasts
3 garlic cloves
6 tbsp (90 ml) light soy sauce
½ tsp (2.5 g) salt
½ tsp (1 g) black pepper
1 large egg
3 tbsp (24 g) cornstarch
1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
Cooking oil (for frying and sautéing)
1 cup (240 ml) chicken stock
3 tbsp (38 g) brown sugar
3 tbsp (45 ml) ketchup
1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame oil
1 tbsp (15 ml) white vinegar
½ cup (120 ml) water
2–3 spring onions (scallions)
1 tbsp (9 g) sesame seeds

  3. Anytime I see a recipe with sugar and ketchup I wholly expect it to be too sweet. I've learned ketchup has a place (after not liking it for a while) but seems overkill if you already have sugar.

  4. Do I have to be the one to point out the donkey in the room? Where is the finishing drizzle of toasted SESAME oil on the SESAME chicken? My only complaint.

  5. Shit ive just tried to do this and my chicken just went to a mad dough when tring to combine….. My kitchen is now a right state trying to bring the dish back lol flour every where…. I will defo stick to proper egg and flour way in future lol……. Im about to fry what ive created….. Anothet beer is defo needed!!!
