TULSA, Okla. — Students at Mingo Valley Christian School spent their annual spirit week collecting food donations for a good cause.

In an assembly on Friday afternoon, the school revealed that students donated more than six thousand pounds of food that will go to John 3:16 Mission.

Lower School Principal Kristi Champ said this tradition dates back decades.

“We have partnered with John 3:16 Mission for over 40 years,” said Champ. “We wanted to find a local ministry, one that of course would partner with people that need to hear the love of Jesus. This is a tangible way for us to do that, and it’s a really easy way to bless them. They’ve told us, ‘Here’s the food items we need,’ and we can meet that need for them.”

John 3:16 said this donation drive really helps them in their slow season between Christmas and Easter.
