Olive oil is a pantry staple I can’t be without. As someone who both cooks with the “liquid gold” and writes about it often, I have a lot of bottles (and tins) around my kitchen — so much so, that I couldn’t possibly use them all fast enough.

Around Christmastime, I gave my cousin Dani and her husband John a bottle of gourmet olive oil from my stash. They’ve become such big fans of it, they just bought a second bottle.

The Kitchn team loves Kosterina’s olive oils and vinegars, so I’m not surprised my cousin liked the brand’s Organic Everyday Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It comes in a beautiful blue 500-milliliter bottle and utilizes Greek Koroneiki olives.

Its subtle flavor, which reviewers describe as “smooth,” “peppery,” and “bright,” is particularly good for cooking. John told me he “[could] really taste the difference” between this gourmet olive oil and the grocery store brand they were using previously. “It’s so tasty and doesn’t feel heavy,” Dani added before calling it their “new go-to brand.”

Another big plus? The bottle spout I gave them with it. They’re free on Kosterina’s website; just use the code FREESPOUT when you go to check out. With it, Dani says “you get a nice small pour; you don’t have to worry about pouring too much right away.” As someone who’s accidentally glugged too much olive oil onto salads, potatoes, and meats, I know this is seriously helpful.

Dani and John aren’t the only people who love this olive oil, either. Hundreds of reviewers have given it a five-star rating. (Dozens even commented it is “the best olive oil.”) You can buy one bottle for $25, three for $69, or six for $140. Now I’m thinking I might need a bottle for myself.
