Occupying the former SE Division home of Andy Ricker’s beloved Pok Pok, this eagerly anticipated opening brings together some of the city’s hottest culinary talents: Akkapong “Earl” Ninsom (Yaowarat, Langbaan, and PaaDee, to name a few), Sam Smith (Tusk, Ava Gene’s, Yaowarat), and Eric Nelson (Expatriate, Eem, Phuket Cafe). The regional focus is again Northern Thailand, with emphasis on the titular chicken and khao soi as menu standouts. Slushies and shakes cut the heat of Thai chiles, and richly seasoned and marinated dishes like gai yang chicken legs or sai ouia herbal sausages sing alongside bright basil, crisp cucumbers, and savory side sauces. Reservations are for parties of six or more, so be prepared to wait or try to go on an off-night; this one is bound to have a line for a while.
