A spread of Bella’s cuisine

BELLA

Co-owner Jeff Davis was inspired by a trip to Southern Italy to create Bella, his new concept in SoMa. The cocktail lounge with velvet seating offers spritzes and other Italian-inspired drinks, such as a paloma made with Campari. Chef Jake Lucas is behind the cuisine, which includes fried chicken sliders, pizzette, shrimp cocktail and arancini. The team encourages San Franciscans to come out and entices them with affordable prices and a happy hour where everything is just $8. “The prices are approachable, allowing guests to enjoy a few items,” says Davis. “Happy hour prices were designed to get the neighborhood and the local businesses back out to socialize and share some bites over cocktails.” 316 11th St., bella-sf.com

LOVESKI DELI

Napa-based bagel brand Loveski Deli is moving into the Jackson Square space that formerly housed Postscript. Besides delicious artisanal bagels, Loveski offers sandwiches, matzoh ball soup, salads and fries. The team also plans to add “more retail offerings, more grocery items, more larder and products that we ourselves are creating—bagel miso, pickle hot sauce and everything chile crisp,” says chef-owner Christopher Kostow. “It is also important for us to continue to broaden the brand, which is one reason why we brought in wheat bread from famed baker, Josie Baker. In short, this new iteration of Loveski paves the way for the future of the brand.” 499 Jackson St., loveskideli.com

FLOUR + WATER PIZZA SHOP

The team behind the Italian eatery Flour+ Water has opened a pizza shop at The Lark in Oakland. “We take a West Coast approach to both our pizza and menu; every item is constructed with high-quality ingredients that showcase our commitment to sourcing the best products,” says co-chef Ryan Pollnow. Diners enjoy the signature pies (we love the Conrad with mushrooms, kale, taleggio, red onion and roasted garlic), sensational mozzarella sticks and satisfying salads. There’s also dry-fried chicken wings with green sauce and Lambrusco slushies, available only at this pizza shop location. 271 24th St., Oakland, fwpizzashop.com
