March 12, 2026 — The International Sommelier Guild (ISG) has announced that its professional wine education programs will be delivered in Switzerland through collaboration with Wine Education Switzerland, based in Lucerne.

Through this collaboration, ISG’s structured wine and hospitality education framework will be introduced to students and hospitality professionals in Switzerland, with courses scheduled to begin in Zürich in 2026.
The first programs to be offered are the Intermediate Wine Certificate, beginning 22 May 2026, followed by the Advanced Wine Certificate beginning 4 September 2026. Courses will initially be offered in German, with additional languages expected as the program develops.
Wine Education Switzerland provides wine education and professional training for hospitality professionals and serious wine students. The collaboration introduces ISG’s curriculum and academic structure into the Swiss market through locally delivered programs.
The introduction of ISG programs comes at a time when the Swiss wine and hospitality sector is increasingly connected to international markets, with growing export activity and international tourism. In this context, internationally structured wine education is becoming increasingly relevant for hospitality professionals.
ISG programs are standardized worldwide and structured as a progressive academic pathway integrating wine knowledge, hospitality operations, professional service standards, and hospitality and beverage management. Programs are delivered in local languages, reflecting the organization’s commitment to accessible professional wine education worldwide.
Founded in 1982, the International Sommelier Guild provides wine and hospitality education internationally through a network of partners. Its programs are delivered across multiple regions including North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. In the near future, ISG will introduce its twentieth language of instruction.
The introduction of ISG programs in Switzerland extends the organization’s international academic framework while supporting the continued development of professional wine education within the Swiss hospitality sector.
