Four new fragrances are launching into the travel retail channel this month.

Coty Travel Retail has extended its high-end Chloé Atelier des Fleurs fragrance portfolio with a new collection, The Mediterranean Essences, launching this month into travel retail.

Chloé fashion house founder Gaby Aghion was inspired by the Mediterranean, and infused this heritage into the brand universe. The Mediterranean Essences by Atelier des Fleurs is said to embody this inspiration too.

The collection aims to offer a sensual portrait of the Mediterranean, far from postcard clichés. According to Coty, the fragrances evoke the olfactory imprint of sun-drenched landscapes, evoking a more intimate South of France that incorporates sunlit coastal paths, pine needles underfoot, and the scent of sun-warmed sand.

The Mediterranean Essences collection reinterprets classic Mediterranean ingredients through more nuanced scent compositions inspired by the region’s pine forests, and aromatic vegetation. The fragrances also draw on the brand’s signature ‘plissé soleil’ concept, translating its layered structure into radiant scent profiles.

Atelier des Fleurs centres reinterpretations of classic ingredients

Atelier des Fleurs Sable Lavande, by perfumer Quentin Bisch, features a soft, warm lavender, enhanced by a solar fig accord and ambrofix.

Also composed by Quentin Bisch, Atelier des Fleurs Vert Soleil highlights lentisque, an ingredient rarely used in perfumery. This aromatic Mediterranean shrub flourishes in the arid coastal lands where the vegetation merges with the sea.

The Mediterranean Essences by Atelier des Fleurs is said to offer a sensual portrait of the Mediterranean, far from postcard clichés.

It is complemented by mastic, known for its resinous nuances, and green mandarin, which adds zest and vibrancy. The result is a floral composition with vegetal freshness, warmed by a base of musk and wood.

With Atelier des Fleurs Plage du Figuier, perfumer Ane Ayo has composed a  new interpretation of fig, an emblematic ingredient of the South of France. Inspired by Aghion’s connection to Ramatuelle and Saint-Tropez, the warm, solar fragrance aims to capture the atmosphere of Plage de Figuier, a beach located nearby. At its core is a fig accord, enhanced by orange blossom – a well-known Mediterranean olfactory signature.

The final fragrance within the new Mediterranean Essences collection is Atelier des Fleurs Sous les Pins – another Quentin Bisch composition. This juice pays tribute to the Mediterranean island of Porquerolles, and aims to recreate the scent profile of this specific natural setting using an innovative extraction technique. The fragrance combines dry, woody notes, complemented by hints of eucalyptus and vegetation.

The Mediterranean Essences fragrance bottles feature a warm green colour designed to echo the lush landscape of the French Mediterranean coast, topped with a textured sand-coloured cap.
