Peanut butter is a timeless pantry staple. Whether you enjoy it with an apple to dip, on a sandwich with jelly or even bananas Elvis-style, in cookies, or simply by the spoonful (we don’t judge), there’s likely a jar of peanut butter in every one of our homes right now. Unless, of course, you have a peanut allergy—in which case we are so sorry you can’t experience the delicious joys of creamy (or crunchy) PB.

While it might not be the oldest brand, Jif has been leading the peanut butter pack for years. The J.M. Smucker Co. brand seems to have every iteration of peanut butter under the sun—from classic creamy and crunchy, to all-natural peanut butters, and even a chocolate and peanut butter-flavored spread.

But, now, as consumers are looking more closely at ingredient labels, Jif is innovating its fan-loved peanut butter once again. Jif is releasing a new line of Jif Simply products, starting with Unsweetened Creamy peanut butter.

Long-time Jif fans might recognize the name and that’s because there is a Simply Jif peanut butter that’s low-sodium and has 33 percent less sugar than traditional Jif PB. However, what makes Simply Unsweetened Creamy Peanut Butter different is that it doesn’t have any sugar added at all. So, it’s more akin to Jif’s No Sugar Added Creamy Peanut Butter.

Plus, Simply Unsweetened Creamy Peanut Butter is made with exactly three ingredients: peanuts, palm oil, and salt. So, there’s no molasses, hydrogenated vegetable oils, monoglycerides, or diglycerides in this peanut butter, like there is in some of Jif’s other products.

Unsweetened Creamy is the first in a series of new Jif Simply Peanut Butter Spreads, with more varieties coming soon, according to The J.M. Smucker Co. The three-ingredient peanut butter boasts eight grams of protein per serving and is hitting shelves now in a 15-ounce jar.

Jif Simply Unsweetened Creamy Peanut Butter will first be released at Walmart stores, where it’s rolling out now, with more U.S. retailer availability coming later in 2026.

This line of Jif Simply Peanut Butter Spreads is just the beginning of what The J.M. Smucker Co. promised to be a big year at the 2026 Consumer Analyst Group of New York (CAGNY) conference. The company also teased new Uncrustables flavors and a Smucker’s jam rebrand for the first time in nearly 30 years.

With more Jif products to come, we’d better start clearing out some pantry space.
