GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is hosting a food drive for its employees during the ongoing partial government shutdown.
Some employees, including TSA workers, are not being paid during the ongoing partial government shutdown.
Airport officials said they are collecting donations of non-perishable food and household items to help employees.
Items can be dropped off at the following two locations between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. beginning Friday:
The Parking Valet Kiosk (located at the front curb) The Information Center (near baggage claim)
A similar effort was organized during the federal government shutdown in October 2025 to support TSA agents and other federal partners who were affected.
“TSA and CBP officers play an important role in keeping passengers safe and airport operations moving,” said President and CEO for the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District Kevin Howell. “We recognize the impact this situation is having on them and their families and appreciate the community’s support.”
