I absolutely have to have a grilled jalapeno with my steak. It should be offered everywhere.

I absolutely loathe jalapeños(and anything spicy, really) and I’m from the northeast. Even once they’re cooked and some people claim they lose their spiciness, i think they taste terrible. Ruining a good steak, in my opinion.

I’m in south Texas and I love it. HEB’s and good food everywhere

I’ve never seen that combo in my life, but I would absolutely destroy that plate.
Dingus_Majingus
Feels like a Mexico thing so probably also a Texas thing. Lots of Mexicans I’ve known have a jalapeño in their lunch box like some kids have a snickers bar.
*bites sandwich, bites jalapeño, eats a chip, repeat*

I think it’s common all over the southwest. Yummy

Have jalapeños come back? I gave up on them a few years ago because the heat levels were completely unpredictable. Some were great, exactly what you would expect. Others almost no heat at all. Was my experience a fluke? If not, has it come back around?

That’s wild. This is exactly how I cook my steak. Loaded potato with grilled jalapeño, although no bread typically. Im very PNW, not south. Maybe it’s a taste thing and not regional?

I live is Massachusetts and I grill hot peppers with every steak I make (usually straight from my garden to my Weber kettle). Not a regional thing up here I just low spicy food.

Jalapeño toreado. The Mexican thing is to have a chile de amor(didas) with everything.
TheBadgerKing1992
That looks great. How was the steak?

That baked tato looks unreal

Never seen this before – but I know what I’m adding to my plate next time I cook a steak!
PrimusDCE
Most carne asada I have in the DC area does this.

This looks heavenly

Many Mexicans like a grilled or charred jalapeno as an addition to their meals. So good.
andyrooneysearssmell
No matter what I grill I throw jalapenos over the fire too. This combo looks fucking awesome.

Jalapeños aren’t hot in the United States anymore thanks Texas A&M. Get Mexican jalapeños or serranos if you want heat.
Tacos_Andre_619
SoCal checking in – I use Serranos but will accept a Jalapeño in a pinch
Fearless_Trick_5268
I’d love this!!
ElChickenGrande
We often have grilled jalapeño served with plates like this in New Mexico as well
Potential-Refuse-263

Exotic_Chemical3358
Probably but It does look good
endthepainowplz
Every steak I had in Mexico was topped with something, while here it feels like a faux pas. I bet it’s just a regional thing, however, I’m definitely going to be trying this.

I love this combo, but I always have to specify here in Chicago.

Yes. Moved to Virginia & have been searching for a jalapeño since I got here. There doesn’t seem to be one in the entire state.
holyhellsteve
You know what would really perfect that plate is some nopales y cebollitas!
