The rolling hills of Tuscany welcomed twenty participants in a unique educational travel program, “Taste, Tour, and Learn,” courtesy of the Georgia Southern Division of Continuing and Professional Education. The trip offered a once-in-a-lifetime deep dive into Italian culture, language, and cuisine.
Recently, 20 learners embarked on a unique cultural and educational experience in Tuscany, Italy.
Courtesy of the Georgia Southern Division of Continuing and Professional Education, the “Taste, Tour, and Learn” adult educational travel program immersed participants in Italian culture, language, and cuisine!

Over the course of the excursion, participants attended private Italian language lessons, Tuscan cooking courses, and private tours of iconic landmarks, including travel to historic sites in Florence and Siena, as well as renowned wine regions San Gimignano, Chianti, and Montalcino.
Collectively, these regions are the birthplace of the modern Italian language and the Renaissance movement, establishing Tuscany as the epicenter of Italian culture.

The 11-day, 10-night excursion provided participants with wine tastings, authentic dining, castle tours, and memories that will last a lifetime. Program attendee Linda Hansen regarded the experience as, “an amazing, educational, and fun-filled opportunity through GS’s Continuing Education Programs. We developed friendships while experiencing culture, art, and history together through our five/six senses. Shoutouts to The Dante Alighieri School, Dustin, DeeDee, Maria, and ALL participants for making this a memorable experience.”
