


Since the Dills recipe is hard to read:
Dills (4 quart)
3.5 cups vinegar (dark)
5 cups water
3 T Salt (not iodized)
2 tsp sugar
Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers in
Put [a] few sprigs of dill top and bottom of quart, also small piece of alum.

Is dark vinegar apple cider, or some other type?
It looks like homemade vinegar. good at least you preserved it. I could not read last page completely though. Better if there was a tool to read this kind of preserved family recipes and store it.
Oh I miss bread and butter pickles!
