I understand why the company did it for liability reasons.

I still have 4 sealed one from the last year they did them. One day…

I still am sad Paqui as a company had to go under. I really like the ghost pepper chips and haven’t found anything to replace them yet besides maybe trying to make my own

I always bought them and ate them. Not the hottest thing I’ve eaten but it had a kick, a terrible taste, and gave me a little indigestion (some people it literally floored as in they were on the floor in pain). Then that kid died and that was that. A nice thing to look forward to each year and now it’s no more.

The bags of chips they made were also on point. Ghost pepper were delicious but so were the Salsa Verde and Nacho. Freaking sucks they shut down.

I enjoyed these. I worked at a grocery store. We always had snacks at our manager meetings. I brought these to the meeting one day. I calmly ate one. The other managers split up two chips (it was a big box store). They couldn’t even finish one chip… I was nice enough to bring milk too… hehehe…

I never wanted to try this thing. From what I heard it wasn’t even that spicy, tastes bad and made anyone who ate it in a lot of pain

I saw those around for $20 and was like uh, fuck that. Later I saw some at a gas station for $7 and wish I’d bought a few.

They got rid of that after a teenager with a heart condition died after eating one.
