A new Mister Softee location held its grand opening Friday in Little Egg Harbor.

The iconic ice cream shop opened at 605 Route 9 South, formerly The Old Pine Cone Ice Cream location.

Mister Softee is offering both the company’s signature soft ice cream and 32 flavors of hard ice cream, the owners posted on social media.

“We cannot wait to bring our homemade ice cream, sweet treats, and fun atmosphere to the community. This has been something we’ve been working on behind the scenes, and we’re beyond excited to finally share it with you all,” the owners wrote.

The addition marks another brick-and-mortar location for the franchise, which is well known for mobile truck fleet.

Mister Softee maintains store locations in Wildwood and Cape May, along with smaller stand locations in Beachwood, Brick, Cape May Court House, Manahawkin, Seaside Heights, North Wildwood, and Pennsauken, according to the company’s website.

Brothers William Conway and James Conway founded Mister Softee in Philadelphia in 1956.

The company moved its headquarters to Runnemede in 1958.

It is one of the country’s largest soft ice cream franchisers, operating approximately 625 trucks across 18 states.

The company has adapted to modern consumer habits by launching an official mobile app that allows customers to track the nearest ice cream truck in real-time.

The app uses GPS technology to display truck locations in New Jersey and other states, eliminating the need to listen for the distinctive Mister Softee jingle.
