This was so delicious. I usually don’t buy expensive coffee and this small lot popped up at my store. Came with a roasted on date as well. Very surprised with the taste. Once dialed in it was smooth, no acidity at all and very chocolaty. For $10.99 this was one of the best coffees I had.
If anyone has more recommendations for inexpensive coffee I would love to try!

Anything from Nicoletti. Have tried most of their beans and love them. They sell on Amazon for a good price. They also fresh roast your batch of beans so you have to order like 2 weeks in advance of when you’ll need it.
Trader Joe’s Colombia Aponte Honey is great for $10
Mystic Monk and Torque both sell good fair priced single origin beans. I’ve bought twice from both of them and haven’t been disappointed especially for the price point. Another one I really like and is sold in 16oz bags is custom roasts by Alex, also bought a few times and happy with the purchases.
Their entire small lot collection has been amazing. Don’t tell too many people though, we don’t want that catching on mainstream.

I don’t shop at Trader Joe’s but somebody suggested that I try their fair trade, shade-grown Ethiopian Arabica: for the price but also because it’s good. So I did and I’ll go back for more soon. I’ve got a subscription with Trade (drinktrade.com) and the coffee they’ve sent me is quite good but the TJ Ethiopian is rather cheaper per gram. On the other hand my wife got me some coffee with a roast date from Central Market (big store here in Texas, not sure where else it exists) and to be honest I think the TJ is just as good. Perhaps in six months my taste buds will be better educated but for now, I’m happy with the TJ Ethiopian.
If you’re in Texas, HEB runs a special all the time on counter culture coffee. Forty six for espresso and big trouble for espresso and everything else.
Fresher and slightly more expensive if your order online ships out of NC or Cali I think.
Trader Joe’s small lot bags with the roast dates are sneaky good. I’m always checking for a new bag when I shop!!
The Mexico beans they had were some of the best beans I’ve ever had. Nutty creamy milk chocolate turned up to 10. Was very pleasantly surprised.

Hardly call that delicious (yes I’ve tried all Trader Joe’s Beans). For $15-$18 you’re local Whole Foods has many local roasters with roasting dates.
TJ beans are good for learning.
You may be blessed though—almost not kidding. You seem to rank mediocre coffee as good–so have at it. Try Aldis beans next.

Trader Joe’s is my primary source these days. The price to quality ratio is unmatched so far. I think the selection is regional so I haven’t seen this one, but the Mexican beans that my location had were really good. They also have beans from a semi-local roaster, which usually have a roast date within two weeks, that are fantastic.
only issue i have with them is that they are usually a few months old. checked the roast date today on one and it was january 17 i think. not a bad option though

Costco. Look out for local roasters. I can get Kaldi’s 1837 roast for 13.99 for 2 pounds. Is it great? No, but it is pretty darn good for every day use and makes for a great pour over too.
My local trader joes carries a Rwanda from Silverback Coffee that’s really good. I’ve gotten it a couple of times and always pulls and tastes great. It’s one of the more unique tasting coffees I’ve gotten and pairs well with milk.
It has a roast date as well.

Some of the best green beans I ever bought were Rwandan. Roast date is always a bonus.
Aldi also has whole bean but with expiration date. Have to count 2 years back for roast date.

They are a hit or miss, however “Buunni” coffee from trader Joe’s is perfect for the price. Also has a roast date.
