Been wanting to try Dinah's Fried Chicken and it did not disappoint. Pictured: 2 piece and a waffle. You may notice that there are 3 pieces – if you spend $10+, you can add a drumstick on for $1!

Total came out to $19~. The skin is crispy, the meat is juicy as hell, and their apple butter works great with the waffle.

My only issue is I wish I lived closer. If anyone has comparable fried chicken recs in the city, please drop them here.

I’m partial to the fried chicken basket from Crawford’s

  2. Pretend-Doughnut-675

A lot of people will recommend Howlin Ray’s (multiple locations) and it’s definitely worth a visit, don’t go above Medium spice levels unless you REALLY like it Hot Ones challenge spicy though.

I love Dinah’s, definitely one of the best

Best? For sure not. If you’re in Glendale make the drive to Burbank and go to Gus’s. Definitely better than Dinah’s

For non-Nashville fried chicken, Dinah’s is great. Towards the Westside, Honey’s Kettle is really good. The rest of the fried chicken scene is mostly Nashville out here

For simple fried chicken with big portions it’s great

not the best but definitely hits the spot

Dinah’s is great, especially cold for a picnic. Also, their pineapple coleslaw is amazing.

I heard Honey’s Kettle is amazing. Dinah’s is okay. I’m a big fan of Jollibee.

    Dinah’s?

Which location is this? They used to be in Culver City right ?

If you guys are willing to go a bit south to the edge of Orange County, Pittsburgh Chicken on Katella is #1 as far as fried chicken goes. Nothing else there but their chicken is top notch.

  13. Exhibit26

    No.

Gus, Honey Kettle, Willie Mae (r.i.p), Louisiana are all better

I’m just shocked nobody mentioned Pioneer.

  16. biggnate83

Hellll nooooo. Its the “sure, I guess” fried chicken.

  17. I’ve had a lot of fried chicken, and I think Joyce’s (in DTLA) fried game hen is the best I’ve had in LA. Just the right amount of seasoning, not too battered, and tender and juicy like no other I’ve had around here.

  18. outlaw1196

Gus’s on the west Pioneer on the east. Argue with yo mama

  19. Used to be Tokyo Fried Chicken but they shut down 🥀

Dinah’s? Never ever saw the appeal. Jim Dandy for me.

    Fixins Soul Kitchen in DTLA.

I love Dinah’s but ever since they moved from Sepúlveda. We have not gone. It was a staple after or before flights

Does the Gus’s on Crenshaw and Pico compare to the one in Burbank? I pass by it but have never tried it!

  24. Similar_Hedgehog_635

It’s the worst. I live near them and tried it a few times. Honey Kettle in Culver City much better

  25. hitcho12

Non Nashville hot chicken… to me is Louisiana Fried Chicken on the corner of Rodeo/Obama and La Cienega near Ladera.

They also have Halal fried chicken upon request, which has been awesome as I’ve been able to share with Muslim friends and coworkers and it’s always a hit.

  26. Designer_Cow3570

I know a mf named Erik that fries it in a cast iron with a dinner fork. The best in the city

  27. Dupond_et_Dupont

K.bbq chicken is better and that’s a chain.
