Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank’s board of directors has chosen Calib Miller to serve as its next leader. Miller will begin his tenure as executive director on March 30.
“I’m incredibly humbled and grateful for the opportunity to help steward the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank during this exciting new chapter of growth,” Miller said in the food bank’s announcement. “I’m thankful for the confidence the board has placed in me and honored to serve such a meaningful mission. Snoqualmie Valley is an extraordinarily beautiful part of the country, and while the region is facing real changes, what stands out most is the way neighbors continue to rise up in support of one another.”
Miller has extensive leadership experience with organizations mitigating food insecurity, including as a food connection program manager at Healthy Chesapeake, Inc.; interim food bank director at the Commission on Economic Opportunity in Pennsylvania; director of partner services at Feeding South Florida; and vice president of community impact at Food Bank for the Heartland, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Miller’s appointment comes at a critical moment for the food bank, which is currently building its new $5-million facility. It’s anticipated to open its doors in January.
